seamod.ro is a small entity created in 2011. We focus on numerical ocean models, and GIS applications; providing services both to research and to operational applications.
We use state-of-the-art numerical models together with data assimilation and model fusion tools. We exploit statistical packages to extract relevant information. We present results with OGC– and INSPIRE-complient, user-friendly GIS solutions. We also provide expertise on other, related areas (information extraction from satellite images etc).
We run computer code on Linux platforms. Pre- and post-processing is usually done on personal computers, whereas (ensembles of) models can be run using cloud-computing solutions.
As a demonstration product, we have been providing operational hydrodynamical forecasts of the Black Sea for over two years, while continuously improving the code! We recently switched to a more powerful server, allowing to simulate a larger ensemble of models.
